Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.
“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two dear friends.”
